HBCUNewsReview

We believe HBCUs are a critical part of this world. We want them to be successful. We want them to not just survive but thrive. We believe in this enough to devote a portion of our lives to promoting and supporting them with this online news site. “If you have something you are passionate about, you should do something – anything – to promote and support it as well.” We love what HBCUs do for this world and more importantly, for the students that attend them. We love the cultural relevancy they provide not only for African Americans but other races well because knowing our brothers and sisters in humanity helps us to better understand ourselves. We love the rich history of HBCUs, with many of them having roots that stretch back into the late 1800s. We love the self-knowledge they impart to young, hungry and impressionable minds. We love the sense of belonging and the intimate academic grooming and unyielding support they provide. OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE: Understanding. Informing. Empowering. And yes life is indeed about the people you meet and the things you create with them. So we invite our readers and supporters to help us create a special place for HBCUs and the people connected to them here. We don’t want to be just another part of the clanking chorus of HBCU online sites. Yes, we know that HBCUs are facing serious issues and critical matters every single day. We know there are funding disparities, looming closures, salacious scandals and public bickering. We also know there are countless amazing and wonderful things happening at HBCUs every day that most of us never hear about. We’re composing our own special symphony of intentional positivity where the mission is unyieldingly reflected in our actions. We’re pledging to bring you the most positive and inspiring stories possible from the world of HBCUs and we want to have lots of fun and do something good along the way.
